VLC Media Player เป็นโปรแกรมดูหนังฟังเพลงอีกตัวหนึ่งที่นักดูหนังน่าจะรู้จักกันดี โปรแกรมนี้มีจุดเด่นตรงที่ความสามารถในการดูหนังได้ทุกนามสกุลโดยไม่ต้องลงอะไรเพิ่มเติม แถมยังมีการพัฒนาอยู่บนหลายเพลทฟอร์ม เช่น Windows, iOS, Mac OS, Linux ทำให้ผู้ที่ใช้งาน OS หลายตัว สามารถใช้งานโปรแกรมโดยไม่ต้องทำความคุ้นเคยก่อน โปรแกรมรองรับการดูหนังด้วยไฟล์หนังทั่วไป พร้อมทั้งรองรับการดูหนังบนแผ่น DVD, VCD และ Blu-ray สามารถแสดงเมนูได้เหมือนเล่นบนเครื่องเล่นทั่วไป โปรแกรมยังรองรับการเปลี่ยนสกินและการใช้งานหลายภาษา สำหรับเวอร์ชั่นอัพเดทล่าสุดก็มีการปรับปรุงด้านความเสถียรของโปรแกรม, แก้ไขการเล่นไฟล์ OGG, ASF, SRT, FLAC, เพิ่มการรองรับ Matroska v4 เป็นต้น
VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, and OGG, as well as for DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It also can be used as a server for unicast or multicast streams in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
